Early November 2009

Here are some highlights from the first half of November. Enjoy!

Where's Eva?

Solid foods are a hit!

Eva looks a little crazy, but I couldn't resist how cute Cora looked. Cora ADORES Eva and she was so happy that her big sister was actually giving her some affection.

October 2009

I am on fire! Two posts in two days--maybe there's hope for me yet. Ah, but there's always a catch! Why does blogger put my uploaded pictures in reverse order??? Since I'm feeling lazy, we'll review October in descending order (end of month to beginning of month).

It's finally Halloween!

Our girl out collecting candy.

Exhausted after a morning at the zoo.

Among the pumpkins.

Our playgroup Halloween party.

Bouncy seat? I don't need no stinkin' bouncy seat!

Sitting up in the bouncy seat. Time to retire it!

So cuddly and cute.

Boo!

Matt and I attended my 15-year high school reunion. Yes, that is a fish hanging on the wall. If you grew up in rural Wisconsin, you will understand.

Happy Birthday, Dzia-dzia!

Squeeky clean!

California 2009 Trip

I always intend to post fewer pictures at a time and to post more often. Alas, it just doesn't happen. Here are some highlights from our September trip to southern California where we celebrated Grandma Brewer's 80th birthday and got to meet our adorable nephew Kaz.

On the plane.

Cora was a model traveller.

Eva has perfected the "toddler smile."

Leslie's grandparents, mom, aunt and uncles.

Sorry to post a pool pic, Phil, but this was too cute. Eva LOVED the pool!

Partying with Cora.

Ah, the beach.

Cora and Gram.

Great-Grandma finally meets Cora.

Eva at KidSpace in Pasadena--she had a great time!

Our loveable nephew Kaz!

Ok, so these got a bit out of order, but I don't have time to fix it. Eva at the beach. It's really easy to bury small children in the sand.

Happy baby!

Of course when we get back from vacation we realize all the pictures we didn't take that we should have (a group shot with ALL of us and more pictures with Aaron and Angela--that woman can avoid the front of the camera like the plague!).

Dinner at El Chollo. No lie, this was off the KIDS menu! Eva could fit on the same plate as her dinner.

The laugh is as adorable as the face! XO, Mister Kaz!

Eva teaches Matt how to dance

This video kills me. Matt was able to take this video unbeknownst to Eva so you can see her in truest, silliest, most energetic form. She is wearing a crazy outift of her own making and shakin' what I, her momma, gave her.

Cora's Fourth Month

While we went on a trip to CA during this month, I'll save that for a separate post and focus on life before the big trip. Cora is doing great and can roll in both directions when it pleases her to do so. I think sometimes that she forgets she has this skill (like when she's on her tummy and getting agitated because she doesn't want to be in that position anymore).

Our smiley girl had another significant (though much less exciting) milestone this past month--her first cold. Fortunately, it was very minor and the worst of it only lasted about 24 hours. Here are some pics from Cora's 4th month:

Cora and Althea

A girl and her dog.

Tummy time!

Poor Eva--she had "Roseola or some sort of Roseola type virus" according to our pediatrician. Even though her face looked awful, it didn't phase her one bit (the fever was another story).

Photo session

I giggle every time I look at this series of shots that Matt took. Thought you would enjoy them.
The setting: the papasan chair on the front porch.
The goal: to get a decent shot of both girls smiling at the same time.

Right out of the gate, we have a big smile from Cora.

Eva catches up as Cora starts to slow down.

Eva hitting her stride.

Eva's smile looking a bit forced. Cora has completely stopped using any facial muscles.

Eva: "I'm only doing this because you're making me."

"This is boring."

Eva has now completely checked out.

Ok, now are we done?
